TOSC Scholarships
The Tinker Officers' Spouses' Club is pleased to begin accepting
applications for the 2012-2013 scholarship awards. Each spring, the TOSC awards scholarships to eligible military
dependents and spouses who meet all the qualification requirements.
In 2011, the TOSC was proud to award $12,000 in scholarships to high
school seniors and spouses.
Eligibility
The applicant must meet ONE of the
following eligibility requirements at the time of the application deadline.
The applicant must be currently residing in the greater Oklahoma
City area and a bona fide dependant of:
- An active duty U.S. Military member currently assigned to
Tinker AFB.
- An active duty U.S. Military member serving a tour
elsewhere.
- An active duty U.S. Military member assigned to Tinker AFB,
but serving an ROTC or recruiting duty elsewhere in Oklahoma.
- A full-time Reservist.
- A full-time Federal Guardsman stationed at Tinker
AFB.
- A deceased U.S. Military member who was on active duty at
the time of death. High school students must not be
legally adopted by a non-military member.
- A retired U.S. Military member.
- An active civil service employee (DoD) at Tinker AFB.
Qualifications

High School Senior
The applicant must meet
ALL of the
following qualifications:
- Currently attend a public, private, or home school
within a 70-mile radius of Tinker AFB, OK, and graduate
in the 2011-2012 academic year.
- Currently hold an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.5
or higher, or
a combined SAT reading and math score of 880 or higher,
or an ACT
score of 22 or higher.
- Have submitted applications and plan to enroll as a
full-time
student for the
2012-2013 school year at a college or university
accredited through an agency recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education and the Council for Higher
Education Accreditation.
- Submit a complete application to the Scholarship
Committee Chairperson of the Tinker Officers’ Spouses’
Club (TOSC).

Spouse
The applicant must meet
ALL of the
following qualifications:
- (A) Have a high school diploma
or GED if
entering his/her first year of higher education in
academic year 2012-2013 at a college or university
accredited through an agency recognized by the U.S.
Department of Education and the Council for Higher
Education Accreditation.
OR
(B) Submit a letter of academic good standing from a
college or university accredited through an agency
recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the
Council for Higher Education Accreditation which he/she
is currently attending,
or an overall
GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4 point scale from the
accredited college or university he/she is currently
attending.
- Pursuing his/her first undergraduate degree.
Individuals who are pursuing a second
undergraduate degree or a Masters degree are not
eligible for this scholarship.
- Plan to enroll as a student at an accredited college
or university for the
2012-2013
school year.
- Submit a complete application to the Scholarship
Committee Chairperson of the Tinker Officers’ Spouses’
Club (TOSC).

A completed
application must be postmarked by February 15, 2012.
The TOSC and the members of the Scholarship
Committee are not responsible for lost or misdirected
mail or applications.
- Incomplete applications, or those received after the
deadline will not be accepted.
- No member of the scholarship selection panel is also
a member of the TOSC or Enlisted Spouses’ Network.
- Notifications of the scholarship recipients will be
made in mid-March 2012.

Spouse
- Spouse applicant may receive a TOSC Scholarship only
every other year or a maximum of two times.
